“Be the person you needed when you were younger”
My name is John and, today, I started my first blog. This blog, which you are currently on and are currently reading, was started for many reasons but for no more important reason than the lesson delivered in the opening quote.
At many times in my life I’ve been emotionally and spiritually lost, broken or any variation of that feeling in an ongoing quest to achieve a meaningful life. Whether that feeling has been self-inflicted or not, I, like many others, would typically turn to friends and family for guidance in “what to do next”. This helps, of course, but after a while I realized that the only real way to achieve a meaningful life was to 1) Learn more about life and 2) Learn more about myself. These two tasks (which, if you are really a living, breathing human can never be fully completed) and all of the exploration of myself and the world have led my right here!
Mypickmeup.com was created on my belief that the only way I can truly achieving a meaningful life is that I help others each and every day! My purpose with the blog is to provide you (yes, YOU) with hope, inspiration, motivation and love as often as possible in a hope that you can take the information and ideas I have to share and apply them to your life. Life can be very serious sometimes and I feel that taking life less seriously can be a monumental relief. I hope to exhibit this in my writing and make topics that are serious very less serious with jokes and pictures!
More than anything, I hope that everyone will take the topics and discussions that I write about and discuss these openly in the world. Too often I feel that we, as people, don’t talk about the issues, challenges or even aspirations, goals, and dreams that we think about to ourselves everyday. I would love to see a world where the small talk becomes to deep conversation. A world where people really talk about the things that matter.
In short, I’m incredibly excited for the future of mypickmeup.com and being able to share this excitement with everyone!
